Landscape Co. has come to the rescue of the remaining palm trees lining Worth
Avenue slated to be removed as part of the ongoing streetscape renovation.
Noel
DelValle, business development manager at the West Palm Beach landscape
contractor, said the firm will take 16 of 20 Christmas palms planted along the
south side of the 300 block Saturday morning.
They
are to be installed on the grounds of the 09.11.01 Memorial Plaza, located at
Palm Beach Gardens Fire-Rescue Department Fire Station No. 3, 5161 Northlake
Blvd. in Palm Beach Gardens. The memorial park is slated for dedication Sept.
11.
If Scripps Florida is going to grow into the economic powerhouse
promised in 2003 by then-Gov. Jeb Bush, that growth will begin on the
Briger property in Palm Beach Gardens. On Thursday, the Palm Beach
Gardens City Council needs to take the first step in turning the
682-acre parcel into a potential biotech hub.
Lion Country gets initial OK to quadruple number of homes allowed

Suburbia took another step toward taming a slice of Palm Beach County's wild side on Wednesday.
Lion
Country Safari won initial approval from the County Commission to
change its "rural" designation and quadruple the number of homes
allowed on the 637 acres in Loxahatchee that houses the 40-year-old
tourist attraction.

PALM BEACH GARDENS — After five years of
promises and protests, city council members unanimously approved
developing the Briger property into what they say will be a biotech hub
in north county.
The 2006 decision that brought Scripps Florida to Florida Atlantic University's campus in Jupiter depended on building an expansion area immediately across Donald Ross Road in Palm Beach Gardens. The plan for that second phase undergoes its first independent review today before the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council. While experts differ on the layout for Scripps II, the plan needs to move forward.
